Zamfara Horror: Gunmen on Motorbikes Strike Again

1.
Fear has gripped the farming community of Sabongarin Damri in Zamfara State after a deadly raid in the early hours of Monday left at least 11 people dead and around 70 others abducted.
Eyewitnesses say armed men on motorbikes swept into the village, firing without warning. Most of those taken were women and children. Homes were set ablaze, shops ransacked, and residents fled into nearby bushes in a desperate bid to survive.
The attackers are suspected to belong to one of the kidnapping gangs that have plagued north‑west Nigeria in recent years. Police have confirmed the assault and say they are working to track the group and rescue those taken, though locals remain doubtful after repeated attacks in the region have gone unanswered.
Community leaders warn that without urgent action, rural villages like Sabongarin Damri could soon be abandoned altogether.
